Office of the Coroner

About

Serving Adams and Broomfield counties

About the Coroner’s Office

We investigate deaths to help establish what happened. Our investigators receive death reports and respond to death scenes 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Our role in county government

  • An independent office

The Office of the Coroner is an independent division of county government funded through the Adams County Board of Commissioners. We work with law enforcement, health care professionals, and attorneys while conducting our investigations independently.

  • Serving two counties

Through an intergovernmental agreement, the office also provides death investigation services to the City and County of Broomfield. Adams and Broomfield counties share Colorado’s 17th Judicial District.
